As my title states, I'd like some pointers on how to make my pixel art better. I've been making pixel art since the beginning of July, and I'm also trying to use it as a means to obtain money over on another site, but I lack the means to promote myself. I was recommended to come here by another pixel artist named Destiny Wolf, or Ahruon.

Below are three of five pieces of art I've completed, each one giving me ideas on how they should look like.

I would appreciate any help that can be offered, and any constructive criticism is welcomed.

If you haven't done so already i'd suggest reading the stickied tutorial threads in Resources and Support.

One problem is the amount of banding you have in your shading. Banding over emphasizes the horizontal and vertical nature of the pixel grid. Cure's stickied pixel tutorial has solutions for banding.

Your color ramps are also pretty bland. It looks like you're just choosing darker and lighter values of colors. Hue shifting can make your color ramps more interesting.

I'll also say a forward shot of very straight people is pretty hard to volumize since it's pretty flat and doesn't extend into the z-axis that much. The choice depends though on what you're using these characters for.

Thanks for the advice, I'll take a look at his tutorial, and work on them tomorrow.
