I'm lookin for a good program to make pixel images with.
I've been using a program called Pixen on my new MacBook but it crashes constantly which is extremely frustrating & makes completion of any image nearly impossible. I'm a begginer pixel artist and I grew up tinkering with MS paint, so I would like to find another program just about as simple as MS paint that is alot more reliable...
Or if you know something about Pixen that I don't then a fix for the crashes would be nice too because Pixen is simple and nice to use (when It doesn't crash and lose all my work)
Thanks for the help..

Pixen will do that, I was beta testing it for a while and gave up.
Go to apple.com and get Paintbrush(free) or Acorn( $40) (other options there but none look good to me, try some). Or the best deal is to buy a Bamboo Tablet for $99 cuz it brings Photoshop Elements (layers/animation). Gimp is free open-source too.

Thanks, I've been looking into Photoshop CS4 for Mac and the trial looks promising. I'll try out Paintbrush from apple though, when I was looking for something like that I came across (God forbid) Pixen.

Well I use CS4 for all my pixelart so if you can afford it then do use it, its the best. PS: CS3 +4 no longer have gif animation capabilities. CS or earlier (ImageReady)
