The Point:
My name is Justin and I’ve been lurking around various pixel art websites for a while now.  I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend of 5 years in the near future.  We’re both big geeks and gamers (we met through Gamestop of all places) so I had the idea of making a video game.  I’m a computer engineering student so I am an able programmer, but I have no artistic talent at all.  I’m just putting this up to see if anyone would actually be interested in helping me with this.  Like the topic says, this would be unpaid.  As much as I would love to pay those that help, we are but poor college students with no money.

I’m looking for someone with at least a little bit of experience in making a game like this, because this is a completely new experience for me.  Someone who is familiar with this can help keep me on track, letting me know what it is you need from me to make this idea a reality.  Also this is very important and special to me, and hopefully her, so I want it to look very nice.

The Game:
The game is going to be a 2d platformer with SNESish style graphics.  Gameplay wise, I’m going for a Mega Man clone.  Exxa is in her 3rd semester for Nursing right now, so her character in the game is a nurse that throws syringes full of sedatives (I can’t have my future wife killing anyone).  The idea is that Exxa just got off of work and is trying to meet me for a date, but the world isn’t being cooperative with letting her get to me.  She has to run, jump and shoot her way through various obstacles to try and make it on time to our date.  Once she makes it to me, I propose in game, and for real.  I’m planning on three levels, and I’m hoping for the game to be fairly short, maybe 15 minutes or so to beat.

Currently my ideas for the levels are:

Hospital:
Mental patients running amok
Body bags creeping around like caterpillars

Traffic Jam:
Flaming hubcaps
Police blockades

Shortcut through forest:
Wild animals
Zombies!!

Unfortunatly I don't have animating skills so the best I can do is bump the topic.
