--Shaded Dimensions, project “Shade”-- ![]() ::Game Description:: ::: Full information/description: http://shade.shadeddimensions.com/about ::: Shade is a 2d MMORPG starting development, and will take a period of approximately 9+ months to complete. What we want to accomplish with this project, is an active and bright community, fun and dynamic game-play that everyone will enjoy. For Shade, we are aiming to be far above 'standard', an MMORPG. A feature rich, deep game never allowing players the chance to feel boredom. Shade will be a very dynamic and advanced game, there will be twists and turns and large developments of story and gameplay that will thread the game through dramatic changes within the world. A fierce combat system allowing players to really get into the action, with intense battles through combinations of attacks and tactics, it will always be an exciting challenge to battle and defeat the monsters around you. A thoroughly developed skill system, allowing you to branch out or follow individual path's of specialty, with crazy skills allowing for deep and meaningful battles whatever you may face against. Pet's will be an integral part of gameplay, not just simply standing by your side, but evolving into a powerful combat ally to radiate battles even further, with skills able to be taught to your pet, and also eventually able to Soul bond with your partner, to navigate the large world of Shade at speed. Quests will be exciting, with NPC's that hold personality, fun dialog that doesn't make the process towards accepting a quest painful. As well as quest scrolls allowing you to check up on anything in case you have forgotten what was asked of you. Dungeons with enthralling boss's that will need real gameplay smarts to battle them. Collective mazes, spanning even an hour or more towards the final confrontation joined by your party, in an instanced dungeon with no worry of losing loot to other aggressors. Animations: You will also be doing the walk animation which consists of 4 frames. If so, how long did you spend on the project, and what did you accomplish during that time? -------------------------------------------------------------- ::GUI:: 1 position available -: What you will be doing :- Working off base designs you will create the graphics for Shade's interfaces. You will be required to keep a steady direction with the art style throughout the entire GUI (There is nothing worse than windows looking out of place to the rest of the design). ------------------------------- -: Application layout :- Past GUI work/gallery: Image1. If so, how long did you spend on the project, and what did you accomplish during that time? -------------------------------------------------------------- - More you need to know/understand - -: Schedule :- This project will go for at least a period of 9 months, when you submit an application you understand that during that time you will need to work on this project, and stay. If you think your going to be changing your life style in any dramatic way within the near future not allowing you to be available at all to work on the project, please don't apply, as I'm looking for a team that can last the long way through and jump around happily when it has been completed. A schedule will also be written detailing the time constraints for the project so you can have a full understanding of what you need to do, when. ------------------------------- -: Assets :- Any assets created for use in Shade, and payed for, will there after be used by Shade under shaded dimensions. You can not at any point if you do suddenly find yourself in a situation where you need to leave, etc, and pull out your work and accuse it of not being allowed to have use in the project. I don't want to pay to find out that if someone has to leave they want to drag 4 months, or other of work away from the project. ------------------------------- -: Activity :- As development of Shade starts, you will be expected to at *least* visit the forum once every 2 days. Logging in is all you need to do, even if you don't reply. I don't want to post anything on the forum and be in contact with you 3 days down the track to find you didn't know there had been anything posted. I'll also expect you to be on msn. Of course, with the whole world having time zones, etc, I can't expect you to be on at all times I am on, but as I am logged in over the weekend and I get on at lunchtimes at work, I expect to be able to contact each member and check how progress is coming along. ------------------------------- -: Updating :- There is a forum section that I will be expecting to see people update when possible, so that myself, as well as them can make sure they are keeping up to date with the schedule. If at any point you do fall behind, it isn't a huge issue if you can catch right back up, but if it requires taking shortcuts, be patient and wait till you have a regular opportunity to do so. ------------------------------- -: Taking the criticism :- Remember that during this project your work will be criticized, of course always as constructively as possible, but remember the project will be aiming to compete against a lot of top MMORPG's, so you need to understand that at some points there will be times you need to make edits, no matter how small, as well as starting over at some points. ------------------------------- -: Emphasis on team :- The SD team (shaded dimensions team), is a team. So, I'd like us to act as one. Try to chat with other members on msn messenger, even if it's small talk asking about the weather, lol. I'd like a friendly team that can interact and know who is doing what, etc. -------------------------------------------------------------- --Payments-- -: Payment types :- NOTE: ALL PAYMENTS IN AUD (AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR) http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html Payments will be payed through paypal ------------------------------- -: Even after pay :- I will expect, even after being paid for a job, for you to be able to go back and edit it if requested at any point in time. Just because you have been paid for something shouldn't leave you without a care for the best quality product to be produced. You need to care about the project as a whole. ------------------------------- -: Artist :- How Much~ $25 per complete Sprite. That includes up/down/left/right walk animations of 4 frames. When~ You will be payed at the end of the week $50 for the 2 completed sprites (as that is how much is being asked to be completed), if both are complete and ready to go in-game. If not then you will have to wait until you have finished the Sprite. If only one is completed you will be payed $25 until the second has been finalized. ------------------------------- -: GUI :- How Much~ $500, will be split across divisions of menus. E.G. the login/menu/game screen will be a single subject of work. When~ Once you have completed sections of menus and they are in game and completed you shall be payed whatever the cut amount is. -------------------------------------------------------------- --Getting the job?-- -: First application :- If you fill out the applications for the job above correctly, and I like what I see, then you will move on to the next stage. (In some cases, you may be able to skip the next stage, for example a programmer with outstanding references, etc, won't need to be tested. Though if there are multiple programmers like that, I'll be waiting till the GDD (game design document) has been completed before finalizing a decision. Because, the first test is to see who can stick with the forum and keep in contact for the time during that stage. Because if you can't stay around for 1-2 months for a GDD to be finished, it would be hard I would imagine to then stay on the team for 9+ months.). ------------------------------- -: The next stage ~ Tests :- Once the GDD has been completed (game design document), I will then run tests for the members that have stuck around. Once the tests are completed and handed in I will choose the members based upon the results.
