Pixel Joint Forum: Where Do I Start?

I want to get into some pixel art but I don't know where to start? What programs do I use. Where do I start? Do Tablets make it any easier?

Can anyone explain how I can get into pixel art and link me to some cool tutorials or provide some tips?
