Hey. I'm new to GA and pixel art. Right now I'm having a problem with GA. If I select a color from the my image by rightclicking and then change the color with the palette then the color in the image is also changing. Fx. if I pick a blue color from the image by rigtclicking and then make the blue color a lighter to make a shader then all the blue color in the image becomes lighter. I think this happens because I by an accident have changed a setting somewere. Can anybody tell me how I make it so the colors aren't changin in my image when I'm changing them on with my pallete?

Yes of course. If you start a new pixel, select the 24 bit (full color) thingy. Or if you are already working on something, go to: All frames > Color depth >> select the 24bpp (full color)
After you have done that, you wont have the same problem anymore! |

Thanks! It's working now. But I don't understand why the format has any thing to do with it?

As soon as you select the 256 color (or lower) thing, your image palette is converted to an indexed palette. This means, every thing on your image has an index instead of a color value. For example, you draw a lot of stuff with index 10. If you than change the color value of index 10, everything index 10 will have its color changed. This makes editing your palette very easy, and is in the coloring stages of pixel art often very useful! I can't live without anymore :)
Thats the reason |

Have you drawn the background outside (on a new canvas) of your actual animation?
If so, it is most likely that you have an indexed palette on the animation, and so the program does not recognize the colors of your paste stuff, only the indexes. You could manually import all the indexes, but the easy way is as following: Set your animation palette style to Full (24bit) Paste in your background, the way you wanted to do that Turn the palette back to indexed, and the newly added colors will be added on the list. Next time do not make things in another canvas. If you really need all space there is, make a temporary frame, a layer, or whatever you can work on with the same palette. |
