![]() Topic: [Unpaid] Artist for a small gamePosted: 02 May 2009 at 5:17am |

Hi there guys,
I am looking for some talented pixel artist(s) who want to join me in making a freeware game. I have little idea of what is needed right now. The small concept I have is "Bruja" - which means witch. The game is about a witch, flying and walking around in a platform-esque game. I have worked on games before (Google Bernard and Hank 2), and I am now looking to start on a game where graphics are the primary focus. I have not pinpointed any requirements as of yet because I think an artist's input will be nice, and it also means I am not asking for things the artists don't want to make. It's not very motivating when someone comes up with a to-do list like it's a laborious task, I want the artists to be doing what they want to do in line with the game concept. I aim this project at people who have a passion for what they do: if you love pixel art and you want to make something amazing then jump on board, tell me what you want to make, and we will make it. It's an excellent opportunity if you're looking to put something on your resume or cv. I am not limiting this to just 1 artist, but each artist will have to take on a particular role in order to maintain consistency. 1) A sprite artist: you job is to make the main character (a witch) with some animations and make the enemies. If there is someone else you can work with on this then this is fine, but it has to be a consistent style. The only set requirement is there needs to be a witch. She will be walking, flying (broom pointing left, right and in 4 diagonals) and she will need animations for casting spells, getting hurt and dying. The enemies in the game will probably be determined by what you would like to draw. 2) Background artist: I said this game is about a witch, and this is a pretty vague description. I imagine some beautiful night themes, the moon will show up somewhere. Mountains and hills, clouds, thundery scenery. Games normally follow set themes so imagine what kind of themes you would like to make. If you're interested, post me some examples of your work and state which position you want to go for. The game is in your hands as much as mine so feel free to make any suggestions if they fit your style. Thanks for your interest, I look forward to working with you :) |
