This is a question I want to ask all of you, in your own terms... what makes a professional pixel artist? I think that being a pro is being able to do anything in an exeptional quality. For me, a pro is also someone who is able to let's say sprite Tilesets, Characters, Icons, Cutscenes, Mugshots, Backgrounds, etc... I'm interested in becoming a proffesional one day (which is the reason why I dedicate myself to this soo much) since I want to be confident enough that I can do anything really well done.
What about you? is being able to do the overall enough to make you a pro? or are there other factors that you consider that are crucial to make yourself be or become one? Edited by Antifarea - 14 May 2009 at 2:47pm |

I think that a pro is someone who's using pixelart in his/her profession, and apply it at a professional level.
Doing great pixelart isn't making anyone a pro, maybe a great artist, but not a pro. obviously imho ![]() |

A 'pro' by definition simply means getting paid for work.
Of course if you are talented and make quality art offers will come your way whether you want to or not. YOu can also be a specialized person only, say an animator, or BG designer, etc. You don't have to do it all. |
