I'm writing a story, and this is one of the characters, but it is very unfinished. The body seems off, though I like how the shading on the face turned out. :D

C+C appreciated. :)

Buy or search for good drawing tutorial (how to know which is good? It should fature skeletons and muscle diagrams in some of chapters, not rounds and sticks all the way through). And learn, learn, learn. Alongside - copy from photos, copy from manga (to take note how different it is from reality) - you'll need to do this much if you really want to draw good.
Now it is no reason to C+C, because you're at early stage and need to study on your own.

I found a book about anime drawing (yes, it showed skeletons, muscles, etc.) and I've been drawing anime ever since, though. I guess I just need to practice. :P Anyway, I totally re-did the body, but it's not too different. I'll post it when I change some more stuff. :)

No-no current problem is a face - eyes are too close to each other, mouth is not at it's place and nose is not better. (Imagine a skull under all this and you will see). Pixels are too tough to work with to make pics on the fly, so stick with paper and pens for now. Draw and trace everything.

And look in the mirror. It helps alot too.

Hmmm...Ah, I guess so. :P I'll fix it.

Better? (I also changed the body and added a hand, but I'm having trouble with the left (her right) hand. :/ )

Be-e-e-eh... In a way it's better, because now it features hand (normal hand, no crits). But if you don't see for yourself what's wrong with the rest (all obvious), it's better to start studying and reading about 'now let's make a rectangle and divide it...' NOW!

See... Its not THAT bad. But there are lots of stuff there that could be improved.
First of all, the shading. Right now, you just have some highlights on one side, next to the lineart, and then darker tones on the other side. Try to make it so they follow the face shapes. And some contrast could work too. I ll make a real quick edit here, take a look at it to see what I meant. The arm shape is also pretty wrong.

Anyway, I just did some doodles on top of yours. Hopefully you will understand what I meant.

*sigh* How bad does this look? I changed the arms again.

EDIT: And A.B. Lazer, saying my mistakes are obvious, but not naming them isn't very constructive. If they were obvious, I would've fixed them, huh? Also, by you telling me what my "obvious" mistakes are, they'll become more obvious, thus allowing me to get better. That's what constructive criticism is about: getting better through (proper) criticism.

Come on, you haven't read those manuals very carefuly, no?

If you'd read, you'd know where on the skull are holes for eyeballs (they should be wide, and extra-wide for manga-look), so wouldn't place them too close.

If you'd read, you'd know that top of the ear starts where top of the eye is and bottom of the ear finishes where bottom of the nose is.

And you haven't looked in the mirror, no?

If you'd looked, you'd see that even in such 3/4 view mouth should be under the nose, not to the left of it. And in manga it sometimes goes far to the right.

If you'd looked, you'd noticed that upper arm has form of balloon and not of boomerang, because there is a muscle named biceps.

If you'd looked, you'd see that your chest is two times wider than that which you drew, and you'd asked yourself: maybe chest which I drew too tiny even for a woman? And you'd made research for photos, which, with Google, takes mere minutes, maybe even seconds.

And if you didn't make those things, and changed pic in such way which is hardly noticeable, maybe it's not me who is not constructive, and you who is lazy?

I also think you ignored my tips, because your shading is still exactly the same, and still lacking contrast.

@ A.B. Lazer: Thank you. I'll fix those. :)

@ lucas_irineu: I changed it after I posted that one. *points up* I guess it's time for a new WIP, huh? Well, here ya go.
Oh, and I know the head's too big. I tend to do that. .-.

Update! I've pretty much got it done, but I know I failed at the folds in the clothes and she needs shoes.

There is something wrong with that hair. Try googling some pictures to see how actual hair looks like.

How about shading by form instead of acting as if everything is a tube and projected by the sun from the side?

Here is a quick rough edit on how wild you can go.

anatomy can still improve.  For one her feet are too small, and also her breasts start up too high.  Look at the space between the top of the shoulder and where the breast starts in this picture compared to yours.

Thank you, Lollige and r1k. :) But, Lollige, your edit's mouth is kinda...scary. It reminds me of a mixture between Fran from The Nanny and the mother from Married With Children. D: *hides* ( I'm kidding.)

EDIT:

Definitely me who is lazy. X) Well, I've actually got a pretty good tutorial, but it talks about bones and muscles a lot, but it doesn't show them. Maybe a different tutorial's what I need?

EDIT2: Is better, yes?
But the feet are likely still too small. :/

I do think the feet are still too small.  I can see youre not going for realistic proportions overall and more of a kind of cartoony propotions so the feet dont neccesarily have to be realistic in size but Im pointing it out because Ive noticed its a common mistake when peope are trying to draw realistically that the feet are often drawn too small.  But In real life the feet is about the length of the forearm or the face.

Hmmm...*goes off to edit some more*
What do you think about the hair?

EDIT: New one. Changed the feet a bit and gave her sandals. :D But I don't like them...  :/

just a small thing, and i'm probably anatomically wrong, but her left arm seems a bit detatched fdrom her body.

her left. It might have something to do with the shoulder, but the shoulder might be correct as it is. you could just move her arm in a pixel or two... :)
