ok so i'm awful at grass tiles and i need help to make it look good with just 3 shades. Any advice? I know its not much of a wip really but i need to learn how to do this.

Do more?
There's not much anyone can critique here. Make more tiles, then try and make a map. I don't even think your tile even tiles properly. Can see a repetitive pattern and make out the square. |

break up clusters and lines and evenly use lights and darks. what about other tiles? What good is one tile?

I try to make a section then start cutting it up like split it in haf put the two halves on opposite sides of the tile, i made these a while ago

So what is the first step in making a tile set? make an area than break it up into equal sections?
