this is what that site did to my image when i made it transparent. the background was originally white.

Made with iaza. Not sure what you did, but you just select Transparent--which is under Transform, which itself is under Create--then click on the background color of your image, then click Convert. Easy peasy. :)

If you really need to make it transparent as a PNG then you can do it with GIMP.
