    Posted: 09 November 2009 at 2:06pm
Jalonso recommended i post in the support forum to get some help for my problem with submitting 4 pieces to the gallery because they do not have transparency.

About the 4 pieces I sumbitted to the gallery, I first tried to download giffy and when the rar file finished it only contained a readme, which linked me to a site to download the program, when I got to the site it said I had to be a member of the yahoo usergroup associated with that downlaod so i just skipped that andd went on to iaza.com.

iaza.com is very hard for me to navigate and whenever i tried to upload something it wouldnt accept it. So i did the next best thing I got the color of the background of the forum, applied it to my art and then uploaded it.

I don't know what else to do than that.

If anyone can help me fix the problem, I would be very appreciative.

I am using WIndows Vista on my PC.

Thanks for looking jalonso, I downloaded that but it doesn't appear to do what I need it to do and it wants me to pay $30 for it after 7 days so I don't know if this is what others use or not.

1. GrafX2 is free and open source software. If someone is charging you money for it after 7 days they're swindling you and you should notify the developers, who are great guys. The legitimate home page of the project is here.
2. GrafX2 does not support transparency at this time.
3.Try Giffy. You can download it here. [LINK REMOVED]

EDIT: Actually, that's very, VERY old version of GrafX2 before it was made free and open source, so don't report it to the developers. Also, yes, our giffy download is borked, just checked that out. I'll see if I can find a copy for you (and everyone)

EDIT AGAIN: looks like this one works: http://www.brothersoft.com/giffy-download-16084.html

Thanks Hatch, that link allowed me to download giffy succesfully and I got it to work so I know it runs and will work, my only problem now is that my current files are saved as pngs I opened them up and tried to resave them as gifs but when i did so the colors were changed and it put this weird filter over my artand just messed it up entirely, I don't know how to stop it from doing that when converting to gifs, any suggestions?

This IS a nightmare with no workaround.
Post the images you need here and I'll convert them for you into gifs in Photoshop.

Hey jalonso, just got back to the house, I found a really useful online utility that can convert images to any type of file easily.

http://www.online-utility.org/image_converter.jsp?outputType=GIF

It is really handy and easy to use, maybe we can tell others about it who have this problem.

Thanks for everyones help, I really appreciate it.

EDIT : My issue is resolved and you may now close this thread if you wish.

P.S. - I got all my art fixed and resubmitted YAY!
