Over and over, I have tried and created the perfect icon for myself. But there's only one problem: I can never get the side state to look just right! Any of you pixel experts out there have any advice/tips?

Exactly! Lol, I was brought to the world of pixels and taught to call them side states. I have to get out of that habit soon though.

Post what you've got in the WIP and let us crit it. Alternatively if you want some people with more RPG oriantated experience i suggest you head on over to www.pixel-art.org/pixelopolis they are a bit tougher than we but i feel you'd get better crits (sorry guys but they are more experienced)
