Basically, this is a mockup WIP that I made for people to select their clan (the buttons above) which by doing so, would show the three clans of that village via the information box below the and the background of the silouhettes.
I'm not sure how to make it look better, besides the obvious. I was wondering if I could get some help; idea's critics, edits are welcome and I'm thankful for anything, here's the image:

very large size to be working with, i'd scale it down unless this size is required. google to find reference for male torso at 3/4ths angle, notice the s-shaped curvature of the spine, how the chest is poked out and how significant the hips are, even on males. also notice how far forward the skull sits on the neck. right now your torsos (on the sides) are about the same width from armpit to the thighs. the silhouette should dip in at the waist, out at the hips, out for the ribcage and chest. think more about the underlying skeletal structure and how that effects the forms.

I guess I tried to make it more anime-like. Lanky and skinny, but I tried to add more muscle structure. But yeah, the anatomy is something I've struggled with, but I just started. I've never been able to stare at an anatomy, but I'll attempt to make it closer.

Here's a tip: line up 3 friends and take a photo. Or you could pose yourself, 3 times but make sure you stand correct (so not just rotated on 1 spot, but actually moving over 2 feet per character.
This'll give you some really solid reference to work from. |
