I had this crazy dream last night and it inspired me to a new pixel artwork. Well... I do need some help. This dream was about a horse race, but the horses were siting on a bike! I'd like it to look cartoonish.

Good concept, it will make a really funny picture :D

In this stage, making the sketch before doing lineart, althought being cartoon, you should take note of animal anatomy, and keep two things in mind:

- There must be a sense of mass (the horse is sitting on bike sit, or is stand up on the pedals?)

- When the pedal go down the horse hasn't enought leg, you could make the hind legs longer and flexed, like real bikers do (use google images to find good references, i think there is also a good post on references here in pixelation forum...

Yes, I would focus more on the horse's anatomy. Of course, it's even harder than that, because real horses can't sit. So, in order to allow him to sit on a bike, you have to sort of him give the hips of a human.
