I was wondering do you guys use a grid to pixel art, I know that sounds ridiculous but I wasn't sure since I'm not clear the what the method for this kind of thing?

Could you explain what you mean please? I know what the word "grid" means, I'm just not sure what you mean by "use".

I like how in that example page:
-the artist doesn't know how to properly draw flowing lines, and instead makes a bunch of scribbles
-she still manages to skew the mouth
-ugly 'pencil smearing' is used for shading
-clothing wrinkles no longer make sense
-the necklace is made from ¼-inch plastic tubing
-the sense of depth is almost lost

in short: that people not particularly skilled go out and educate others.

It's even cooler to look at her gallery. Looking through it shows she doesn't even use the grid herself it seems (which makes it funny that she's teaching it)

Not dissing 'the grid' technique. Though I don't use it myself, it can be very useful. Personally I think you're better off doing this:
-making sketch
-overlay to see differences, you can move the overlay to inspect specific areas (for instance you might have one face dead on, and the other face too, but they too far away from eachother, then just check per face)
-make better sketch
-overlay
-repeat as much as you want

This'll let you work on understanding where you make errors. For instance, I tend/tended to make eyes to big, which is something that's not as obvious in the grid method.

I actually haven't heard much about the grid method and never gave it much thought. Sounds useful, but tedious. I'd rather use snader's method.
