   CHALLENGE: Plant Identity: Unknown.
A new plant  species has just been discovered! it's unlike anything that's ever been  seen before! It's your job to show us what this amazing new species of plant  looks like.
You may show the plant's surroundings, but the plant itself should be the  focus of the piece. Also, keep in mind that plants are not sentient - so no walking/talking plant-creature thingies.
Optional Bonus Challenge: No green!

Canvas  Size - Max 140 x 140.

Colours - Max 24.

Transparency  - Optional.

Animation - Optional.
CHALLENGE RULES
Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
Only new pixels allowed.
Open to all members.
Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.
CHALLENGE JUDGING
Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES
Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
No matter what happens you get challenged :)

	Ok, so they can't walk or talk. But 'plant' is bit generic. Are we talking about fruits and veggies? Bushes? Trees? Algae? Wines? Flowers? Above ground? Below ground? Under water? Outer space?

	Oh you~! It should be a whole plant. So, for example, no Intergalactic Purple Lemons (IPL), but a bush bearing IPLs would be ok. I guess algae-type things should be ok, but strictly speaking, algae aren't exactly plants... Also, sorry for the racism - to both you and Snader :o

	Might enter this; heres something I knocked up in 45 mins. still need a LOT of work so consider it a WIP. I'm taking the challenge of no greens head on. It's supposed to be some kind of spiky gourd/Melon and lilly type hybrid. Edited by Mars Haseugen - 13 September 2010 at 12:46pm

	- 24 colors used (exactly) - Bonus: No green! :D - Called a Drefty Glampous it is in it's blooming stage right now it has very fragile roots that amazingly support its heavy stem and bulb. Consist of Purple and Red with blue whip like leaves that help it catch sunlight! Think i'll enter this in idk tell meh if it looks good or not (p.s. its my very first time on here...first comment first post..first contest XD first submition)

	Just a quick concept WIP. I gotta get that blob to look more like a baby before (and if) I submit this, and probably add a few more babies hanging off the branches, and of course get some more colors in there. I'm only using 12 out of 24. And yeah, concept is a tree that grows toddlers. That doesn't count as living, does it?
