Hi everyone!

I'm new to this community, but after some searching for some Pixel Art communties, this seems like a great one!

My name is Bryan, and I am representing Kami-Con, a 3rd-year anime convention at the University of Alabama. You can view our website here: http://www.kamicon.net

We are interested in creating a Flash fighting game, starring our two convention mascots. We have our coder, but what we need are the sprites.

That is why I am here.

Here are some details, which I'll try to keep brief:

1) What will the game be like?
 - We want to create a game similar to a game I'm sure most pixel artists would be familiar with - PPGD: Battle in Megaville, which you can find here:

We've actually contacted the original programmer of that game, and he is willing to rewrite the code for us using our sprites and other details. That's right! Your sprites would be used by a game coded by Arayh!

2) What will the art be like?
 - We'd like to copy the original style as much as possible, but are more than willing to look at other styles. As long as it looks very clean and stylish.

3) Who are the characters?
 - At the moment, we are only using our two main mascots. We'd love to add more, but we cannot afford the coding costs as of yet.

Here are some images of the two characters, Shio and Kosho.

4) Alright, so what's in it for me?
 - Here's where we may lose some of you.

We cannot pay you. HOWEVER, there are several benefits you may be interested in:

- Your work will be used for a convention that had an attendance of 1280 last year. (We expect double that this year.)
- We will advertise the game and credit you wherever possible. Our twitter, facebooks, con booklet, website, forums, etc. Anywhere the game would be mentioned, you would be prominently credited, with several special thanks elsewhere.
- We will also pimp your personal webspace wherever possible
- The game would likely be posted on Arayh's deviantart, giving you even more exposure
- Depending on this year's profits, we may be able to pay you something as thanks after the con.

I understand that pixel art can be very time-consuming work, and that doing it for free sounds awful. But that is why we are looking for people who are truly interested in working with our convention and wanting to become part of our group. We are all a bunch of fun-loving people, and we create close ties to those that help us out. There may also be future paying opportunities down the line.

**Personal note, feel free to skip: I'm a video editor. I personally have put a lot of artistic work into this convention for free. I know how it is to work for hours and hours, knowing there is no money coming your way. But it's also fun knowing that hundreds or thousands of people will see your work and know that you were a part of a convention. For example, each year we make a live-action version of an anime opening, starring the SoS Brigade, the group that runs Kami-Con. This past year, we did a Bleach opening. This took me around (or well over) 200 hours of work, not including the filming itself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFN2Uz_EPFE

So, if anyone is interested, we would love to hear from you.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know!

I am excited to hear from any of you.

Thank you,
-Bryan

Wait... Sorry, what?

Do you mean the mini-game where Gir is dodging dolls falling out of the pipes?

No no no, we're needing sprites for the actual Fighting portion of the game. When it's finished loading, hit "Play" in the center of the screen. That's the actual fighting game.
