Greetings.

I am the lead game designer for an independent game company, Urban Electronic Games.

We develop games of virtually any genre and style. Previous games can be found on the website linked above. One of our current projects requires 2D pixel art for the player, the enemies, and some of the environment.

The game is a level based, side-scrolling beat 'em up. Your goal is to get through all of the levels, defeat the final boss, and escape.

What this project entails:

Main Character:
4-5 animations

Enemies:
At least 8 different types (including bosses)
3-4 animations each

Level Tiles:
6-8 sets

Full discloser of the game will be given when accepted. Any information you feel you need before hand will be given when asked.

How to apply:

You can respond here or send me an e-mail: boltfox18@gmail.com
Please give me examples of your work, preferably in the style of SNES, GBA, or similar retro games.

The job is currently unpaid. However, once you've shown reliability, payment can be negotiated.

I look forward to seeing your responses.

So what you're asking for is total blind commitment on the part of an artist and none from yourselves until you get some free graphics?

Your site is very worrying.
Where, in the last 30 years of gaming has there been at least one major and highly successful title that has NOT included, bad guys, explosions, monsters, guns, death and violence of some form?
You want to make games about people's lives?
You wish to make games about personal incidents like inviting a girl to the prom?
You think people would be truly interested in a title based on something that led to India's Independence?
Very dubious all of it.

First of all, you are the one asking for help.

If you set up a proper contract, then nothing should be wrong.

Absolutely not. When someone is interested I disclose information. If they don't want to do the work, at any point, all graphics belong to them. This company is not looking to steal from anyone.

The Sims springs to mind. It was and IS a highly successful franchise, if I am not mistaken. Perhaps gamers are not as shallow as you think they are.

Yes, I am the one asking for help. If there is any more information you want, or any changes to the agreement, please let me know.

Contrary to what you people seem to think, I'm not an idiot and I'm not a monster. I'm not running headlong into a brick wall and I'm not trying to steal your work.

I came here to ask for some help and offer you people a job, that is all. And since I've already had two people asking about the position, I don't think I'm doing too bad of a job.

Now, if you don't want the position, could you kindly stop trolling this post. If you are interested, but are wary of the content asked for or provided, please let me know and I will be more than willing to accommodate.

Thank you.
