I was wondering...how exactly does the approval process work for pieces to be allowed into the gallery? And how long approximately should this take? (Yes, I'm impatient. Sorry for that ) Also I was wondering, for my own piece waiting approval, can I see the amount of yes and no votes already cast by others? I couldn't find answers to this in the FAQ.

Thanks in advance

People vote yes and no, when there's enough of one or the other it either gets accepted into the gallery or sent back to you. No you can't see the number of votes.

It can take almost a full year sometimes to have something accepted into the gallery. I'm not kidding.

Some pieces can take longer than others.
With the more realistic pieces its always a fast track to the gallery if WIPs and refs are listed (which you have).
Judging by who has voted yes and no, I think most are having a bit of an issue with the overall messy and uncontrolled dithering.
Sometimes pieces get buried in the queue such as yours has. You never replied so its just been overlooked. You have enough yes votes to add the piece now. In future work concentrate more on more precisely placed pixels and cleaner pixelling overall.

Thanks to both for the replies. Note though that I was not trying to start a discussion on my specific entry. I deliberately kept the question generic  There's already a place to post tips on my entry itself, so yeah

But to reply to jalonso anyway: I never replied because I had the last post in the topic and I'm not going to bump my very first WIP thread on a forum I just joined Also, peeps are still free to post more replies in both the gallery entry and the WIP thread with specific tips
