This looks a lot better.

I think the trunk could use a little bit more shadow on the right side to be more consistant with the lighting on the leaves.

Is the ground falling away at the bottom, or just floating? It kind of looks like when you pull up a small plant and all the dirt clings to its roots in clumps with little bits falling off. Maybe it would look cool to have the roots of the tree dangling below?
