jalonso , I think that is sick looking more like he's showing that the language of vomiting and think you should improve the hand of applause

2-Hatch (best amongst classical ones)
3-JuninFC (lovely, although guess it better fits a retro gaming community site)

Well, i made them all in a day... I know that i will not win, but who knows... perhaps a third place? hahaha...

My issues Theovision are with tongue, embarrassed and drooling.

The tongue looks more like a cigar to me, I can't seethe blush very well, and the drool looks like puke >.>

Other than that, I think they are quite neat!

@Jalonso: we aim to please - no problem if in the near future adjustments are needed 

@ekobor: see your point. Must admit I was struggling with that tongue myself, and I think some small adjustments can fix the drooling vs puke mix-up.

Overall: I think I will tweak this set a bit further, take a closer look to the color palette and changing a pixel here and there. Not big changes, let's say upgrade this v1.0 to v1.05 (or perhaps even to v1.J ...)
 

I know people want to make smiley looking smilies, pixelly looking smileys, and ones that fit a theme (such as the pj mastcot, or art), but I think we should go for something new

in other words, avoids smilies that look like we stole them from the 80s

in other other words, just ignore me I'm crazy

also also also, we're not going to pick a set, I assume, just because you've completed all the ones we need, I suggest people just do a few of each, and work on multiple sets, rather than making a bunch of one.

also I just found these ones I did for pixellation's smiley contest back in 2007

I've updated my entry (see my initial post above). Removed the 1 pixel corners in the second set.

Must say the second set now looks cleaner and is even a bit smaller than the original (duh...), which I think is also an advantage (less breaking up text lines).

It's certainly is an improvement Ekobor. Thanks for the suggestion - allready incorporated it in the set. Just changed the blue in a more grey version, as drool is not green, but also not blue 

Jinn, you rocketh thyne socketh! These have soo much character. I love them.

They still would break the text line up though as jal has pointed out with others. Even my own set. Could you make these smaller maybe?

Edited: And Jeremy stated in the rules that 24 x 24 was ideal for text lines. Mine were mostly around 20's and it broke the line sometimes even. So I would go smaller if possible.

I still say it be cool to put about 5/10 emote sets up as an option for users to choose one from within the site to use when commenting/posting (like the theme choices we have now). Never seen any other site do that either. Then it could forever grow without a huge uproar. Especially if someone a year from now makes the epic set for the site. You wouldn't need a huge update then every single time it happened.

Just an idea.

Perhaps a re-post on the Pixel Art News page is something to consider, to re-light the fire for this contest - as I also wonder myself if many pixel artists have this PJ emote project still in their crosshairs...
