I was wondering if any other PJ members are a part of the GLBT community. Not like it really matters or anything, I'm just curious

They do say 1 in 10.
You're not alone. You got me~ And I know a few GLBT in real life who dabble in pixel art, but I'm the one who does it the most. -shrug- Nice to meetcha~ |

Oh hi. I'm bi.
Never shared that before here, because, well, it doesn't really seem relevant. Art site, after all. But, yeah. |

It doesn't matter here at all as any art community/scene is likely to have many GLBT members.
I know many that have publicly stated it with no problem from anyone. We judge only on technique (pixel techniques not sexy techniques). As to who is the loudest and proudest and constantly reminding us all of it... that would be Elk >.< ----- "I'm not a member of the GLBT community. Hahaha. True. Elk is a pretty gay man! Also an incredible artist.
@Frostbutt: Well, it might seem like 1 in 50 or maybe less, but its just that most people are too afraid to come out. Truth is, everyone is bi to an extent - but society constantly reminding us that boys shouldn't be playing together the same way they do with girls, that sort of creates a block on everyone's mind that will cause them to think of something else when they could be thinking of a person from the same gender. |

It ends up having more to do with distribution than pure numbers, unfortunately. (And if you only have nine friends... =P )

I really wish I would've gotten into art earlier I'm actually amazed at how amazing of artists ALL of y'all are. I feel really out of place Edited by Frost Butt - 14 August 2011 at 8:20pm |

Yes, Elk is quite inspirational, but then again, so is everyone on here to me. Whether it be the sheer technicality of a piece or the colors, or the creativity. I kind of disagree that everyone is bi to an extent. I understand what you mean, but I've never been attracted to one girl in my entire life. They're just so... ummmm.... yes that's the word I'm looking for |

Maybe it would be more accurate to say that the number of real straight people is close to the number of people who are actually gay, and that most other people are bi, they knowing it or not. :P
Well, and there's those weird asexual people too. =P |

The idea being that everone is on the scale, and very few people are pure 1's, 3's or 5's. Most people are 2's and 4's.
But I know what you mean Frost, I can't think of a single guy I found attractive. Interesting, yes, but not attractive.
And those asexual people are fun to hang with fo'sure. -nodnod-

I've never met an asexual person. They must be pretty dead inside right? I mean, isn't love like the greatest thing in life? How can you not be attracted to anyone and still be happy?

It's unacceptable to hassle GLBT members, but perfectly acceptable to say that women are repulsive and asexual people are dead inside. Gotcha.

In my experience they are some of the most loving people around. They can direct all that use of feeling to everyone equally, rather than wasting time focusing only on those that there is an opening for sex.
(As an extreme way of putting it) Another way being, they still love people, they just don't find them (or sometimes just the prospect of sex) attractive. Humans are repulsive, on an equal scale. -nodnod- Sometimes it's beneficial to look past it though. |

Hey, girls are beautiful.
I'm honestly not attracted to guys nearly as much as I am attracted to girls. But one day I thought, "Hey, you know, most of the girls I've been with were pretty ugly. From that to a guy, hey, not such a change". But even though I'll do stuff with guys, I still find girls to be much more attractive. The female body is beautiful, all sizes, weights and shapes. The male body... Well, sometimes it's nice. :P |

![]() ![]() to me, the female form definitely looks fair, but it's so unshapely and lacking power. The male form can still have the bountifulness, and softness of a female, but with the power, definition and complexity that a women's figure lacks. That's how my brain interprets the two anyway Edited by Frost Butt - 15 August 2011 at 4:40pm |

Paintings by ancient (and probably gay) painters who rarely saw women naked means nothing! :P
Especially in an age when men had to be drawn by showing all their might, while women had to be weak and helpless. Edited by lucas_irineu - 15 August 2011 at 5:47pm |

hmmm, Im starting to think I might be somewhat asexual. Im attracted to girls but lack interest in sex or relationships. Based on the 1 minute reading I did on asexuality on wikipedia, Im not sure if I fit the definition or not, seems like theres a bit of variance among different people for what it means.

And here I am, attracted to everyone, wanting to be in a relationship or at least having sex, and yet nothing happens! What an unfair world. =P

If it's any consolation, I'm 18 and I've never been in a relationship, never been asked out, or even complimented on my countenance Edited by Frost Butt - 15 August 2011 at 10:16pm |

I've been asked out by out person. Gets boring, ne? r1k: Generally anything to do with sexuality has a lot of variance for what it means. I think the most clinical definition is being someone who has no interest in sex or sexual relations. Don't quote me on that though. -shrug- |
