There are just soooo many swords in the PixelJoint gallery. I almost never tell people to just check out other people's art, but in the case of swords... I mean, you don't even have to go to the gallery, you can just search for swords in the WIP forum, and you'll see dozens of people asking about the same thing.
For one thing, try drawing a bright edge down the vertical middle of the sword. If the light is on the right side, then try to create a bright edge all along the right side of the sword, down to the hilt. |
