These are all passable grass tiles.
good job on eliminating the grid to an extent. (it's impossible to ever do it completely. lol) needs some props or varying grass to make it more interesting. make some tiles that blend into a gravel path or some dirt or something. |

kind of looks more like an intricate pattern to me rather than grass. It is too swirly and flat. You have a highlight and shadow color, but the way you have used them don't add depth at all. I wouldn't make lines with the highlight color, but rather just for the points of the blades. The blades aren't long enough to be that tangly either.
This would make a great leaf texture for a tree; I picture a short fat tree with big fat leaves with this texture on the leaves. |

I think it depends what context it's put in..
grass is a weird one.. it can look like mashy pixels and still look like grass if there are trees and bushes on top of it.. checkout this gallery submission and checkout the grass in it. it's basically green and greenishblue noise *CLICK* |

yeah looks more like it could be a rocky gravel tile. too flat and patterny
