I think some of my submitted pieces are gathering dust for three days. Does anyone here around know the longest time this site could approve a pixel art piece?

Three days is nothing; some pieces can sit there for weeks or months (if they are subject to debate and scrutiny). The moderators may also let an image collect public votes over a few days - to help them making up their mind if it should be approved or not.

Pictures that are clearly ok usually get added within a day.

You have a partially transparent colors in your images that will have to be removed - they are "illegal" and cause the odd white artefacts around the edges.

One of your guns is now in. The other will sit and wait for you to fix the strays.
We would have sent it back already but since you're a new member we thought we'd give you a chance to update the image file and avoid the ever so hurtful 'rejection'.

* I do apologize as i thought I had PMd you about strays, PJ themes and other PJ gallery details you obviously didn't read in the PJ FAQ page

Up to a year. I'm not joking.

Its not that something is REALLY wrong with the gallery at all.
Some pieces are very difficult to judge and define. Any piece could very well be 'considered' pixelart but borders on Oekaki or demoscene-ish or hybrid PA and makes for a tough choice. By leaving in the queue awaiting member votes, feedback and comments it can help sort out a piece. Its art and its relative so vast grey areas occassionally pop up.

Other times the artist or their work has had issues in the past and this can cause a long delay. Often we'll contact the artist and if they wait 3 months to reply about whatever issue there is then that alone will account for 3 month's in the queue. The PJ staff is made of pixelpushers too so its not like we sit looking at the art queue 24/7 eager to add everything. Every piece goes through some level of inspection and downloading to inspect, test, gallery review, PM, etc and can easily take a few days for that.

Some pixelart may be possibly plagiarized or some technical issue is associated with the piece. A reference may be required sometimes, etc.

Other times a 'benefit of the doubt' may be given and the piece sent back at a later time because an issue arises that had not been raised before.

We do try to add as soon as possible and wish everything was gallery worthy but sometimes its simply not possible.

*Note that many pixelart is added soon after submitted too, and if anything that sometimes is REALLY, REALLY wrong.
