I am wanting to create a shoot em up space game for the ios devices. I have a iPad, so the game will be developed for that first. I have no clue where to start or what resolution to go with. So before I jump right in on my game. I want to create smaller stuff first. I'm on a mac with the latest gimp. So where do I need to start?

there are tutorials in this forum. i advise to try to study them, especially the tutorial made by cure.
also, look at other people's work, and study them.
