Hi everyone!
I'm totally new to these forums, except that I learned a lot from the tutorials posted here. I'm trying to learn pixel art by doing texture for the game Minecraft. My question is about one of the famous packs for the game Minecraft, Eldpack. His style really amazes me. I think this forum is the best to ask this. What kind of style does he work in? I counted the colors in some of the textures he's done and they are above 50 unique colors per texture. It is strange because even though he has this much color in only 256 pixels (default textures are 16x16) he still uses dithering sometimes. I also have a WIP texture pack pack with which I go for 5 colors per texture. So, can anyone point me in the right direction? Is this a pixel art style or something hybrid? I would really like to learn about this. Thank you! Edited by Aellius - 18 August 2012 at 5:17pm |

I think everyone develops his/her own style for doing pixel art after a while so its probably hard to point you towards it.
But then again I haven't been in pixel art for that long so I wouldn't know if its a certain style after all. |

Gunster is right. A style develops over time all on its own. Just follow work you admire by studying it and attempting to create your version of things and see where it leads.
