Interested in animating a walk/run cycle? You want this!
This great resource has many must-have tips and illustrations.

I have been downloading tons of animated walks/runs/etc lately in preparation for doing my own. One thing that stands out is that although many are good "game-style" animations, the ones that stand out have some things in common... Fluidity, heads that bob and turn, flopping hair, noses, and hats, etc.
These things have a lot in common with the way cartoon animators slightly exaggerate common movements in order to sell the action. This PDF covers biped and quadruped movement in many situations (walk, run, jump, fast run, etc)

Lastly, I searched the forums for Preston Blair but found nothing. I'm sure this must have been posted before but couldn't find it so, here it is.

Thanks for the ebook, that was a useful one! I knew about it but never looked up if the full book was on the internet for free!

I knew about it because Preston is my grandfather.
Ok, I totally made that up. Trying to amuse myself while waiting in my college financial aid line since 7:30am ><
Love your avatar btw, I'm old school like a mug.

I can't find any pdfs of it, just the .cbr version, here's a link.

Once you download it you can change the file extension from .cbr to .rar, then extract the files to an external folder to view them (at least I had to extract them to get them to work.)

So you know, a CBR file is a renamed RAR; the changed extension allows the files to work with comicbook reader programs such as CDisplay.

That's what I tried to do first, but the CDisplay installer was flagged by my anti-virus program, which I didn't really like.

Afterwards I did a bit more reading and realized that .cbr = .rar. I figured that .rar is a more common file type anyway, and people who use comic book reader programs probably already know what a .cbr is.
