Hello Pixel Joint!

Our team at Pinstripe Games has spent the last six months acquiring the rights to, and sorting through a pre-development process of an official sequel to 1988's cult classic, Bad Dudes.

We are a small, independent team of passionate individuals, all with a huge desire to bring this product into reality. We are looking for a talented pixel artist willing to coordinate with our Lead Designer, Programmer, and Business Coordinator through the 8-10 month development cycle we have planned for this project.

I'd like to detail a little bit more about the project, and what our specific needs are.

Bad Dudes 2 is a sequel to the 1988 cult classic. It is a side-scrolling beat-em-up that blends the over-the-top feel and challenge of a classic arcade game, with the pick-up-and-play simplicity and features of modern gaming. With a combat system based around four single button abilities that is so simple anyone can button mash their way through the game, to a classic combo system familiar to any fans of old-school 2d fighters, Bad Dudes 2 seeks to bring a satisfying retro experience to any gamer who puts their hands on it.

The team at Pinstripe Games are dedicated fans of the original Bad Dudes, and as such we have spent months working on the level design, story and character development, and gameplay design of our sequel. Our goal is to not create an action game and slap the Bad Dudes brand on it, our goal is to create the 16-bit inspired sequel this game deserved but never got.

Bad Dudes 2, as stated above, is a 16-bit inspired sequel that we feel the 8-bit NES game never got. The game is 2d and sprite based, however we are designing this game for high resolution monitors and HDTV's, so we aren't talking cheap graphics just for the sake of cheap graphics. Bad Dudes 2 will feature very fluid animation to keep the gameplay smooth. We want the game to look inspired by 16-bit, but beautiful in it's own right. We have a very talented artist who is putting alot of character into our art direction.

With Pinstripe Games, we don't have one person that is the designer. The Lead Designer role goes to myself, Joe, however we like to make sure that "Lead" adjective is not to be confused with "Sole". While there is a plotted design to every aspect of the game, we feel it's important to have every member have their say in regular meetings over every single part of the game.

We are not a team of people led by one person giving orders. We are a team of like-minded, passionate individuals who want to see this product taken to the light of day, and want it to be the best, most entertaining product it can be.

What we are seeking as of right now, is a pixel artist who is interested in seeing the project through it's entire development time. Eight to ten months is a complete estimate, and may not represent how much time will be spent making the game.

We have had numerous establishments show interest in our project, from the Ouya staff, to publishers around the industry. We want this game to get the full attention it deserves and needs to be an excellent product, so we are currently seeking an avenue of funding to give each member a full salary for the duration of it's development.

What we need currently, is to develop a proof-of-concept demo, something that we are going to do in four weeks, that we can use to generate the full development funds.

Because of our financial situation, we cannot offer upfront pay, but we can offer a paid salary as soon as funding is generated.

All we need is one more passionate member for this team. We're aware money is a necessity, and everyone's time is valuable, and we see this investment of your time as a very valuable experience. This is a great project that we have alot of faith and outside interest in, and all we need right now is some solid weeks work on a demo.

We'd like to take this project one step at a time. If you are interested at all in joining our team and lending your talents to making this game a reality, please contact me at " joemodzeleski [@] pinstripegames.com "

Below you will find some examples of the art style we are trying to replicate, provided by our initial art director before he had to accept an alternate job offer.

Thanks for reading!
