Hello everyone!
I'm just really getting into making my own pixel art, so I decided to try my hand at making some RPG sprites. If all goes well, I plan on implementing these sprites in a game with 8-point turning. Nothing bugs me more than a sprite facing forward and sliding diagonally, so I've decided to create diagonally facing sprites in addition to front, back, left, and right facing sprites. This sounded great in theory, but actually creating a diagonally facing sprite has me stumped. Here's what I have so far:
Any suggestions? All criticism is welcome, even if it pertains to the forward/backward facing sprites rather than the diagonally facing sprite. Thanks! |

Just think about the anatomy. It might be best to just recreate the sprite altogether. I've never made them, but if I did I'd probably research isometric designs (because everything is built diagonally) and in addition to that... Just think about it. The left shoulder will be higher(farther away) and the right will be lower(closer). It's the same with most of the details. Your character is pointing to the edges of the screen and should be parallel graphically with point of view. I guess my final suggestion would be to use that good old google option and search "how to diagonal sprites."
