***PLEASE READ FIRST***

Due to the lack of communication/incomplete work I had with a previous artist on pixel joint, please read the following before reading the job description.

1.Time Constraints: Please do not send me your portfolio or rate card if you can’t complete the work in the required time. Artist on PixelJoint need to realize that if someone needs to hire you and are paying (like myself), that means we need the art in a required amount of time. If your boss asked you to complete a task at work or school at a mutually agreed time, you wouldn't turn do it when you felt like it would you.

2.Professionalism: If you have agreed to work on any paid project, it is reasonable to expect regular communication with your client. Communicating once every 4 days or once a week is not acceptable. This is the problem I had with the last artist.

3.Professionalism Pt 2: I know many people on here would love to make art for a living instead of working a regular job. Besides the points mentioned above you need to realize that by not completing work or communicating effectively, you are not just frustrating the person that hired you with the expectation of complete work in a timely manner, you are holding up other people such as programmers, music/soundfx, marketing etc. For a bootstrapped indie publisher, you are literally causing business to come to a standstill.

Job Description:

Requirements:
You MUST have a profile on a site such as Elance, Odesk, or Freelancer. The job will be arranged and paid through these sites.

If not, you MUST have a Paypal account to receive payment and sign a contract prior to commencing work. The contract will outline the job in details, date of delivery, and payment terms. No Money bookers, Xoom, or Western Union.

What’s Needed:

The previous artist had great work but did not finish the task. I’ll need two artist to avoid some of the problems I’ve mentioned above. The game is a run and jump Mario style game and will be relatively easy to complete.

Artist 1: Level and Objects such as platforms, boulders, water, fire, etc.

Artist 2: Character Animator to create animations based off the sketches I will provide. This will include:

1.     Main Character
2.     Secondary Character
3.     5 Bosses
4.     3 types of villains

Payment terms

20% startup
40% half completion to specifications
40% upon completion

Time to complete job: 2 weeks


Sorry if this came off a little blunt, because I’m very laid back, but please no time wasters. This project is already several weeks behind because of the last artist.
