Hey All,

I am in the process of creating a side scrolling shooter (like r-type), and am currently trying to do a banking rotation as the ship moves up and down.

I am really struggling in terms of getting the perspective right! Does anyone have any good resources or ideas about how I can improve on this area? So far I have been making aero plane ships with my hands lol

This is the ship I have been working on... (I'm still very new by the way)

I think this should be in the WIP section, no?

Maybe not as good as I remember them, but here's the ships from Project-X (the hardest shmup ever created...virtually nobody ever got past level 2)

Apologies if this was the wrong location - I was more or less looking for resources / references to try and get the perspective right, but then placed the model so you knew what I was on about. I cansee why it should be in the WIP forum.

@DawnBringer - thanks, that actually helps a lot. Does anyone know where I could get hold of a sort of 3d model viewer?

Pixelmoon, I would suggest looking into Star Fox for the SNES for examples on how to do this. The graphics were so bad for that game, but they do a wonderful job with perspective and depth on their 2D/Wanna-Be-3D graphics.
