I have never been good at drawing hair with pen & paper, nor with pixels. Most often, I'm fine at getting the general shape of the hair done, but adding in that next level of shadows and highlights always give me a pain and make my hair no longer look like hair. I have scoured the net a bit looking for tips and tricks on this, but haven't been able to find anything useful or that can be applied to a small scale pixel graphic. I often split my canvas into a 32x32 or 48x48 size, so many of the tutorials I have found just don't cut it for the restrictions I am confined to.
Basically, what are some things to look out for, things to avoid, and if there are any tutorials around that I missed, where might I find these? |
