Hi everybody,

first post so to avoid breaking any rules I'll try to stick to the guidelines:

1. No company, it's just me and a friend providing the occasional car render...

2. The game is an iPhone racing game, I would describe it as "Outrun meets Trackmania", so basically an early 90s-style racer with a level editor and the possibility to upload / download tracks of other players and race their ghost on their own track. I'm more or less ok car-wise and UI-wise, so the work would basically be to draw one background and 8-10 roadside sprites for each of the four "themes" (tropical, desert, snowy mountain, and urban / highway - I've got a pretty detailed list of the actual sprites with references etc. but it's probably outside the scope of this post...)

3. I'm no artist (otherwise I wouldn't be here ^^) so rather than try to describe a style I've uploaded a couple of screenshots of what the game currently looks like. I feel I should clarify at this point that *THIS IS NOT MY ART*! I've cut these assets from a previous (commercial) project I worked on a few years back. I've asked my old producer for permission to use them as placeholders, but again, not my art, I'm just looking for something with a similar vibe (and in case you want to check him out, the artist is called Henk Nieborg, he's an industry veteran, incredibly talented guy but alas also very busy, as one might expect. I can only recommend you google him, his website gallery is an inspiration for nostalgic gamers!). So having clarified this point, the screenshots are over at http://imgur.com/n7ByXvY

EDIT: can't work out the link stuff - oh the shame - so I'm posting it here instead:

4. Paid of course. I guess the rates depend on the artist / work / experience / etc., but as my "programming mentor" used to say, "if you pay peanuts you get monkeys", so while I'm of course hoping we can strike a fair balance between your rates and my finances, I can assure you I'm not expecting anybody to work for a pittance...

5. Anybody who would be up to the task can reach me at benitosub(at)hotmail.com

6. No company website, like I said it's a one(and a half)-man-operation

7. I've worked on quite a few games / apps, including a couple of AAA failures for now defunct studios (might not sound like a great reference but hey, programmers don't get to make gameplay / marketing / art decisions, the code was solid!) but I'd rather not mention anything specific until I've figured out what my current employer's policy is on... errr... "side jobs" ^^

I think that pretty much sums it up but of course please don't hesitate to mail me any questions you might have.

Thank you for your time!
