Thinking about which style to go for a simple platform graphics I want to use, since I am bored of running my platform engine on stick figure graphics.

Any ideas? =)

Pixel art is very simple, but any feedback on the color palette and how to make it cooler or even simpler is welcome!

I just added your avatar to the gallery and was going to comment how nice the clouds looked and how unique they looked.
For that reason and since you want simple, of the three I like the first but would color like the third and color the lineart like your avatar.

I vote for the style of the second one, but with the clouds from the first. Granted the third has a lot more going on, but I like the simplistic look of 1 and 2... They could both be refined a bit though.

I like the second the most, it feels the most original to me; I like the sketchy pixel look it has going on. But I can't help shift the feeling that the main character reminds me so much of the one from Fez.

I like the third one the best. It seems the most finished to me. But I guess if you want simply the first, or a combo of 1 and 2.

Thanks guys :) Alright, so here's more (very early) WIP...

Decided to add a "simple" alas dreaded tree, which I'd like to blend in on either style on (A) or (B) but it actually went as bad as I expected. Oh, pixel art trees :D any suggestion on how to keep the style is welcome.

I'm trying to let the sprites blend in with the background, which is why the placement of the random tree and rock. I don't like the rocky soil below the grass so much, but a plain color isn't looking so good either.

As I don't have much background as an artist and limited experience doing pixel art, I wanted to keep it simple as in (A) because I also have to do a lot of work on the programming side, but am willing to try hard :)

I still prefer A. But I don't like the tree; colours are jarring. I think an issue you're gonna have, is that nothing is really going to have the same style as the clouds. (Which is why I prefered the second of the original WIPs; the comic-style shading helped blend everything into the same style.)
