Update 12/2/14: Position is now closed. Thanks to everyone who applied.
Hello! Dungeon Dashers is a fast-paced turn-based dungeon crawler for PC which is currently available on Steam Early Access and on the game's website at www.dungeondashers.com. I'm Andy, the designer and programmer for the game and I'm currently seeking a new artist to create some more tilesets and polish up some of the existing art before the game's final release. Screenshots (without pixel-art-ruining lighting applied): ![]() ![]() ![]() I am looking for an artist to do the following: * Create a new tileset for a darker more evil forest * Create a new tileset for the final "evil tower" ending levels * Advise on current colours used in the game and make necessary adjustments * Possible ongoing work to add in new enemies, objects, etc. if you're interested or have ideas that you'd like to contribute to the game. There are some constraints on the project which will make this more difficult : * The game fits to a 32x32 grid which the tiles roughly conform to * There are two layers of tiles, one for the ground level and one which can overlap game objects (the edge that overhangs vertically on the player) * Level layouts consist mainly of small rooms with tight corners * Some basic "shadows" are also required for a few tiles which is a simple bastardization of the lighting (seen in the cave picture) * Graphics need to obviously match the game's existing style which roughly resembles SNES-era, though I do prefer bright colours. Payment to be made either by PayPal or bank transfer. If you're interested, please contact me via email at andy@dungeondashers.com and/or PM me on here. You must include: * Link to portfolio and previous work * Rate $/hr * Why you want to work on Dungeon Dashers Feel free to ask any questions in the thread. If you'd like references for working with me, current and previous artists on this project are: Dusty, AlexHW, Helm, and Ryumaru. Edited by Jigxor - 11 February 2014 at 9:42pm |

Wow, the art is literally mouthwatering. Just curious but what happened to your other artists?

The game has been in development for a long time, and many of the artists were only doing part-time work. In short, they don't have enough time to work on new large scale pieces of art like tilesets, but are still able to do small pieces here and there. |
