My new business is called Blue Mantis Games. At first, I was going to get a painter to make the logo, but I think a pixel artist would be better. I've not decided on the typeface yet, but the logo would have a very alien-looking blue mantis, looming over the text. (It's difficult to explain, but maybe you could do a sketch of what you think would look best?)
Example photos that emphasise the alien appearance: http://www.animalstown.com/animals/p/praying-mantis/wallpapers/praying-mantis-wallpaper-3.jpg http://mantis-1.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Mantis_Mantis.jpg http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/macro-green-praying-mantis-bites-its-antennae-photo-biting-own-35980657.jpg I think I'd definitely like the black eyes; it looks very cool. As well as the main logo, I'll need splash screens for games, web sizes, icons and high res PNG for t-shirts, etc. Of course, the t-shirt graphic would just be a resized version of the logo. As for the main logo itself, I guess that's up to you to decide what would be best. However, I think it should at least be 480x360. As for a deadline, I think a couple of weeks would be ideal, perhaps three if necessary. I will need a portfolio. I need to know what kinds of styles you're good at. It might not be enough for a very skilled pixel artist, but I have £100/$168 as a budget. (As I don't have a lot of money right now.) If you're particularly skilled and you need more for the job, please contact me anyway. My e-mail address is: adminAHToutlawstar.co.uk (of course, delete the AHT) Thanks! This guy?
https://www.linkedin.com/pub/joshua-astorian/11/740/476 If this is the case then you should perhaps contact his employer. They're a very high profile company with a great reputation and they would not want to be associated with be it via one of their employee. Perhaps they can assist you in getting your money back. |

Thanks for the warning. I've been investigating the guy fortunately before sending him the money. I've had many other offers from skilled artists, so it's not a major problem if I have to turn him down.

Thanks. I know that some artists who have contacted me might revisit this thread. I'm currently staying in Greece and will return on Monday/Tuesday. I might get online sometimes in the meantime, but I can't judge pixel art on my phone. Therefore keep your emails coming if anybody else is interested!
