   The story so far....
We find our hero, PJ, sitting at his computer designing new pixels. Intent on finishing his new masterpiece, he barely notices the power surge and sparks that come from his hard drive.

His screen flickers with the image of the evil Dr. Automation saying to nobody in particular, "You are mine now! Bwahahahaha!!"

PJ barely has time to register this occurance before his hard drive shoots out more sparks... though they now seem to look like... pixels? The screen wobbles and suddenly PJ is sucked through it into the world of PixPax.

He blacks out.

Minutes or hours later he awakes to a blurred vision of someone shaking him.

"Are you okay?" The blurred vision asks.

PJ tries to focus and finally he sees the face of a beautiful girl. Shaking his head to clear his vision some more, he sits up slowly. He finds himself in a bed in a strange home.

"You poor thing," she replies. "Let me help you up." She helps him sit up on the bed. "My name is Simone."

PJ blushes at little as he becomes enchanted by her beauty. He stares out the window saying this and sees an assortment of strange wonders: oddly shaped trees, bizzare people walking bizzard animals, etc, etc. His eyes gape at the sight.

Simone takes a good at PJ and comments, "Your clothes do look a bit strange... you're not from this world are you?"
PJ shakes his head.
"This is PixPax, Land of the Pix. Do you think you can manage to stand up?"

He struggles a bit to get up. Loses his balance for a moment then regains his composure.

A sonic boom stops their conversation short.

"Oh no! He's come! Dr. Automation is here!" Simone rushes to the window. PJ joins her to see what is going on. Outside they see a number of ships in the sky from which robots and other creatures drop. They rampage the village and find their prey, Sedgemonkey. They shoot him with a stun gun and drag his body to underneath the main ship. A tractor beam shoots down and they beam up their prisoner. All the ships speed off somewhere.

"They took Sedgemonkey! Nooooo! Not again!" Simone cries.

PJ looks confused.

"Don't you have any idea what is going on here?" The blank expression on PJ's face tells her no. "You just wanna get home don't you? Well let me tell you the horrors that have been going on around here..."

Simone sits down at the kitchen table and begins her story.

"It began a few months ago. The scientist, Dr. Automation went completely mad. He believed the world needed to be purged of all Pix and built his AntiAliasing Machine. This machine would destroy all the power of the Pix by giving him their strength and skills. He began kidnapping random Pix, leaving them lifeless, and gaining their power. Then he began kidnapping the world's greatest Pix and brainwashing them into helping him with his evil plan.

With the Brainwashed Pix on his side, the takeover gained more momentum. Sedgemonkey was the last of the Great Pix and now he has everything he needs to rid the world of all life.

Sedgemonkey could get you home. His knowledge and wisdom of the surrounding dimensions reach far beyond that of any other. If it weren't for the fact that he was just taken he could've done this for you.

It looks like the only way for you to get back is to find where Dr. Automation has taken Sedgemonkey and the others. It is a long journey filled with many dangers but you look like you could handle it."

PJ begins his quest to rescue Sedgemonkey from Dr. Automation. Along the way he must find and fight the other Great Pix: Brian the Great, Shark, Pixelblink, Istvan, Bisque, Peppermint Pig, Blueberry Pie, RandomBlink, and then finally defeat Dr. Automation. Each Pix/Boss he defeats, he gains their power to use against the evil doctor.

	...our hero, PJ, sitting at his computer designing new pixels... perhaps on the wall around him could be some posters one which has a fantasy girl ...he sees the face of a beautiful girl... this is the poster girls face but not the body and clothing It quietly explains why he decides to help her even if he himself in unaware of the connection. (easter egg) ..."My name is Simone."... aahh, the SIMulated ONE, already taken, there must be another clever name that relates better to pixelart. very bad examples: Sella (selout), Ditherinna (dither), Palletta (palette) , Nubina (n00b), Leetrella (1337)...c'mon everybody give it a try Edited by jalonso

	I was thinking it does not have to be a damsel in distress at all. it could be another nerd. Simililar to the PJ nerd except fatter with pimples for example. Like Mario and Luigi are different yet similar. This way at the end of the game in the endscene it is implied that the user will be the next one to be sucked in to the monitor. Like an endless loop of game nerds being sucked in. Gee, I hope that makes sense. ps. For damsel in distress I am starting to like my own idea of naming her Nubina. Feels like an inside joke.

	I dig the story. I mean, its been done before a bazillion times, but thats the whole point- it relates well to video games, also combining a nice mix of pixel themes and familar PJ names. NICE. I can just imagine the pixel sparks and screen wobble at the beginning...

	iSTVAN: My idea on the whole thing is that it should relate to pixel art but have to totally obvious to outsiders of this site. I think that Dr. Automation's name could also be changed to something not so obvious... any ideas? Jalonso: Simone (name up for changes) isn't a "damsel in distress"... PJ is in distress and he is trying to get back home. Everybody: If anyone has objections or changes they'd like to see made to this script, please let me know ASAP. I want to break it down into storyboards so we can start accepting submissions for those. More to come on storyboards in a day or two

	No, I like that the Doctor's name is obvious...you could probably go even more obvious like Dr. Render, with a PhD in PSP. It would also be funny to make reference to the big villian 'not understanding' pixel art- because I know many people out there don't. Youre definately on the right track! Looking forward to seeing the story board suggestions.

	I think we need to figure out a reason for the minigames. What does he gain from them and how does that help his quest. It might be easier to think of mini game ideas if we figure that out too. I think thats an essential part of the storyline thats missing yet. What does every think agree disagree?

	I'd be very pleased if the evil guy had some relation to JPEG images. Hahaha...hahaha...ha... But yeah, the story sounds pretty neat so far. I love the way you've portrayed Sedgemonkey. The bit with Simone and PixPax is reeeaally cheesy though, but i spose thats ok. Heheh, it'll be great.

	How about we make a reference to vectoring?it being the opposite of bitmap? nice story so far.

	I know I'm coming in rather late (if this has already been taken care of, just shoot me) but... I wouldn't mind helping you write the story. I am a creative writing major after all. :P I just need to know the characters (or ideas of the characters). And the general story line. So far, I like the idea of Simone, but I really think she should be a little more nerdy and less cheesy. She does seem like a damsel in distress because she doesn't actually do anything but freak out. Maybe if she helped PJ a bit more (possible 2 Player mode?)? I'd like her, if she isn't just a random chick, to be more involved in the story, like actually help PJ. A lot of the girl sidekicks I find in video games and other games guide the guys through the land and give them the "game tips" (e.g. press the triangle to jump!) and it doesn't make a lot of sense. They know all of this, but they can't go out and defeat the evil themselves? It's sort of sucky. I'd like her to be... maybe the brains behind the operation? There could be gadgets she makes! (not those kind of gadgets :P). Of course, it all depends on what you guys are doing graphic wise, just giving my opinion on the character. Just let me know. I'd be glad to write the story! 	I am certainly open to rewrites, revamps, and just plain restarts of the story if you have a good idea. Nothing is solid as of yet though I thought this was a good starting point. Feel free to have a go! Let your ideas flow freely

	An idea that just came to me: Perhaps there could be a "pool" (the IRC channel) area in which you could read transcripts that tell how to play the game and offer hints from time to time?

Ive been messing around with SmartFox Server Randomblink and I are workin on gettin a server set up. So a multiplayer option is definatly there. I'd like to know how many people would like to see a co-op mode built into the game. Cause i'm probably gonna work that ability into the engine anyway.
