@PixEd. Looks better, like the lighting from the skulls!

@Gecimen Thanks!
Here's a quick edit of a zoomed in shot, mostly just using the darker colors to add more shadow to the scales (and bring out highlights a bit more), if that makes sense to you.

@jalonso Thanks!

I'll probably edit mine again during the weekend.

@aeveis; yes, yes it does make sense. I will try it out. Thanks.

@pix.ed.; good work! it's getting much better each time.

#3. This is what Independence day would look like if it was shot in 60s. Mainly because I can't fit a whole destroyer ship here :)

Hey Limes, I'm contacting all reservers periodically but some people can be out of touch and I tend to let go until we're short of empty spaces. But feel free to contact Skoby and others politely. I'll really appreciate that sort of help.

Edit: Will Smith is upto whomever does the neighbour tile :)

That's a great tile Gecimen.
Actually all the new ones are great.. I like that Prometheus/Alien tile too.

Here's #82 (finally):

I also have some updates:

@Gecimen: Thanks for the support. I'm glad you see improvement in the WIPs.

@Aeveis: Thanks. I wasn't sure that the lighting was working out so you commenting on it reassures me on that aspect.

This is my third WIP. Added some new elements, played a bit more with the lighting and some final detailing on the smooth walls.

At this point it's starting to feel pretty complete to me so I may not do more on it unless anyone has any corrections, improvements or suggestions for me.

Hope you like it. Critique and comments are always welcome.

Thank you,

Because of the huge WIP sign & the conflict with your tile but I guess I can put it anyway. I PMd Arkan85 for it but he never answers my PMs.

@||||; thank you :)

@Pix.Ed.; it's impossible not to see. Not everyone have the courage or patience to work on their criticized sides (excuse me for the bad sentence).

Oops;
that explain's why Nevercreature didn't know what white/blue triangle I meant. He said just post an edit and that he'd approve.

oh Limes:

Could you just update that little triangle of pixels there?

Sorry about that.

I made some update... and I think it is (almost) finished.

@Gecimen: I'm sorry if I didn't answer your message... I thought it was only a reminder...

@Jalonso: I think I'll need your permission for the upper-right side pixels I edited...

@SpeedyCube: I'll need your permission too for hanging the poster on your wall...

@Jalonso; as far as I see only 4 are edited right? Cause I have to keep all tiles separate, and I also keep old edits etc. to be able to go back in history of the collab.

This is my fourth and I think final upload for this one.

I wanted to correct some lines I'd accidentally messed while working on other parts and give it a last hand of detailing but I ended up adding a little something near the bottom edge as well.

Overall I'm pretty happy with where it is, and based on @Gecimen and @Jalonso's last messages (thank you for those), I'm calling it COMPLETE unless anything comes up. Feel free to bring up any concerns, corrections or suggestions.

Also thanks to @Jalonso, @|||| and @Limes for encouraging me to get into the collab in the first place. It has been a lot of fun.

Comments and Critique are welcome.

Thanks

@Pix.Ed.: Now, pick another one, then :)

Btw, to everyone: not that I need to say this but maybe this can influence some of you. There are 2 ways to start a new tile:

1- Pick a tile and draw what your existing neighbor tiles hint. Usually smaller stuff/characters are included to such tiles. These are some of the tiles drawn in such a way:

2- Think of something first, pick an available space that it'll fit. If what you think of is bigger than a tile, check if the rest can be drawn in the space you left in between your tile and borders/existing tiles. These are tiles that are drawn in such a fashion:

Neither of these mehtods are superior to the other and both have a place in all collaboration projects. Surely anyone can imagine what's the place for the method 1, and it's very common. But if there is a tile that it's too confusing or (potentially) boring to continue, then apply method 2, think of something irrelevant from the neighbors and place it there. Break whatever there is and start your own thing. The wooden house above is one such example. And needless to say, there are hybrid methods as well, such as continuing the tile to some point that cutting it with something else.

Oh man I don't really remember as all edits are very minor :/
I think the you're right tho, the 3 I did nothing to are 54, 78 and 87 and maybe 28 but I think I did change a few pixels on that.

@aeveis; I think it looks awesome :)

@Clownaround; it's looking very good but you have a LOT of wrong colors. To further improve it, you can;
* Make a better and denser soil texture. You can draw rock particles around. Try not to leave wide brown areas for your neighbors to continue.
* If you want, you can draw stalactites down below (you can exceed the image size a few pixels). But not needed. It's good enough as it is.

@Limes; have you planned anything for #77?
I'm thinking of starting a pyramid at #85 or #93, depending on whether you would like to collaborate on one. We still don't have mummies/pharaohs.

The top right corner might be better for an Egyptian theme.^^

And I did have an intention with the tile. I wanted to create A giant pit with a gross tentacle creature at the bottom.

Top right doesn't have the space.

Edit: Ok I'll try not to interfere to #77 too much.

Claiming #85.

@ClownAround: That's a great tile, the well looked kind of boring on it's own and you've made it really interesting. I'm not an artist so I don't have much for you but there are two things that confuse my eyes, one is the cluster of colorful pixels on the left bottom side which I can't quite decipher and the other is the shadowy oval near the creature's mandibles that looks like it has spherical volumes but I can't figure out what it is. Hope that helps.

@Aeveis: Awesome bat-creature. It's very clear that it is a bat from the face shapes but the body color and scaly texture in the wing webbing make it look like a draconian bat hybrid, which I find really cool.

I want to show the inside of a pyramid, where a pharaoh is killing an archaeologist but I'm not sure how. I made a try for a cross section like this; but I'm not sure if I can fit the scene here.

I thought of properly breaking the pyramid but I couldn't manage it. Any refs how the outer wall may be broken? I mean normally the thing is full.

Edit: I might take a real different approach in this breaking thing so don't move from here, Limes.

Edit2: I don't know something like this maybe (imagine with whole top off).

@Gecimen Here is one of a pyramid eroded out. You can see the internal structure and pretty much piles of sandy material indicating the erosion, some filled up crevices as well. Not what you were looking for exactly but maybe it can help.

http://www.documentingreality.com/forum/attachments/f225/463544d1372980571-4-000-year-old-pyramid-toppled-builders-peru-1.jpg

Also it occurs to me that a cutout for the following type could help you maximize your workable area. I did it very quickly and used wrong colors but I hope it conveys the idea nonetheless.

Hope it helps.

Love the pyramid idea and pixels by the way.

I think you two should resize and shift that pyramid around so that you don't force 5 different tiles to be part of it if they choose not to be.

If it helps you can throw the top tip of the pyramid into my tile with the ghost which I can delete if it clashes with whatever is in the hole.

Collabing is what's its all about but try no to monopolize big areas unless you have others who accept mini-collabs within the whole.

I'm reserving #16

@Gecimen: I'm in for taking one of the pyramid tiles once I'm done with 19. I don't mind following a master design you predefine either, it will be an interesting challenge for me to to work within the bounds of something designed by someone else.

It will only include 2 tiles except mine, one of which is reserved by Limes already, and I think Pix.Ed. is willing to take part on the other.

Yet again I disagree on this idea as a whole. You see, for example, once I'm done with my tile, Limes can collapse his side of the pyramid to the ground and start something else. Or he can raise a barrow that absorbs it and draw something totally different on top of it. Or he can just make the baseline much smaller. Or he can just continue the pyramid and draw his own related ideas there. Infinite options really. Not like I'm forcing anyone anything.

I don't think it will help at all, without entering Levaunt's tile and I wouldn't want to do that.

@Pix.Ed. That's great!

Gecimen, I understand and agree with what you're saying. I was not scolding or saying no to anything at all. Just input for all regarding mini collabs within the whole.

However, when anyone posts a WIP that show the lines or continuation beyond their tiles as has been happening in this collab but never really done before then the suggestion is much stronger to neighbors of the direction to take their tiles.

Just feebbacking :p

Yes I usually tend to delete any signs of continuation when I submit my final tiles (in order not to over-affect anyone) but this time I had to ask for others' ideas about how to render the pyramid. Anyhow, I'll post another WIP today and that'll clear up the confusions.

Edit: Ok basicly this is the base of what I'm going to submit. I'll include action scenes and refine it allover. Limes & Pix.Ed., feel free to start your tiles. As I said above, you're not obligated to continue the pyramid in its full form.

I added the characters but I don't like them too much, especially the intruder. Are they too small? Should I outline them? Any ideas?

@Jalonso; want to add something (another ghost or tombstone for example) to the space inbetween?
