I'm looking for a good pixel artist to animate a character for a game. Currently, I have a big chunk of a prototype coded and using my own art. Currently It's a combination of pixel art and 3d images rendered at low resolution to look like hand-drawn pixel art (along with manual editing of the rendered frames).

I'm a decent 3d artist, but my pixel art isn't up to snuff. I have the majority of the animations made already - so I know exactly what I need, but the sprite sheets need to be remade in a higher quality.

My sprite character is fairly simple, and I would like to keep a simple style. No borders, no dithering. Generally minimalistic. The character is 32wide x48high (total frame size is 32x64).

Just for the sake of completeness (i used to freelance and vague posts always bugged me) Here's what I have and what I need:

Each animation has 3 different states: Standard, Holding (character is holding an object), and No-Arms (character is holding a gun, which is controlled via code)

I have: Run, Walk, Backwards Walk, Stand, Stand->Run (2 frame transition), Jump, Fall.

I need: Land (after jumping/falling), Hard Land (character gets hurt), Die, Stagger-Walk(when heavily wounded), Stand->Duck, Duck->Stand, Eat

Each animation has the 3 states I mentioned, but If you use layers, it should be a simple matter of hiding/showing the standard arms and "holding" arms.

There are a few technical issues which I will address In person (specific constraints due to the way it's coded)

Requirements:

-At least 18
-Examples of your work
-Examples of pixel animation you've done.
-PayPal Account (to get paid)
-Previous experience is a plus, but your portfolio matters a lot more.

I do have more work that will be available once I'm further along with my prototype - different outfits/armor, icons, and possibly new animations, but right now I just need a solid good looking, well animated main character.

**If you're interested - private message me. Please don't post your resume/portfolio as a response.

Forgot to mention. This is a side-scroller. Kind of important detail I suppose. Much easier to animate than isometric characters :-)

[UPDATE] - this position is no longer open - it has been filled.
