So, like many an artist, I like to try new mediums. Recently when I tried my hand at pixel art, I loved it.
Unfortunately, I was never that good of an artist to begin with, and things don't exactly work the same, here. Honestly, I just don't know where to begin as far as advancing my skills go. I can draw a nice HUGE pixel outline, and color that in (well enough, I guess. The image here (http://imgur.com/lm0ubTy) isn't perfect, obviously, and I gave up after looking at the fingers for a few seconds before fine tuning, but that should, more or less, show ya where I'm at right now. Note how terrible the feathers look. Also the gun. Also the- everything. Overall I think my lines aren't consistent enough, not sure what to do about that, honestly.), but I would love to be able to use pixel art as it was meant to be used: each individual pixel serving a purpose in the overall look and feel of the image. If you request that I draw something else, specifically, I will whole-heartedly spend 40 minutes on it if it means aiding in my growth as a pixel artist. Feel free to link me to some guides on the forums, but I've already seen a few of them. Still trying to utilize anti-aliasing, and I'm still doing some experimenting with color theory, but the line ends there. I think it's safe to say I've transcended pillow shading, though. Thanks a bundle! (My overall goal here are images that can be used for sprites. Aside from enjoying sprite-able images myself, a few friends of mine are getting into code and dislike using gross placeholder work of their own creation.)
