Question: Does a forest on a mountain range count as mountain, forest, both or "outside the requirements for this challenge"?

In your case, it would be the beach, given that you are primarily depicting a beach - the forest is only a background element. |

Why not paint a scene depicting planet earth as seen from space? It would contain all of those words from all of the categories albeit, zoomed out a little.

I have got a palette, the most difficult thing in a limited color challenge. The colors with a little dark red pixel next to them are redundant colors; just so you don't think I have 11 colors. *EDIT* I'm going for a dawn theme, so that is why I have no super light colors. Also, I'll likely change this tremendously once I actually start to pixel. Edited by AlexAlexAlexAlexAlexAlex - 20 April 2015 at 6:10pm |

Does snow and glaciers occupying 1/3 to 1/2 of the piece count for snowing?

Well, it should actually be snowing...as in snow falling from the sky.

Ok, not that hard, just not going to do a blizzard.
Wait... If I did a beach at dawn in the middle of a blizzard, whiteout conditions, couldn't I just use 8 colors for snow? Not going to though |

Ignore the black on the bottom, only using that temporarily and that green on the top will be the darkest color* Beach at dusk while snowing *Unless I change the colors, which is quite inevitable *EDIT* a sketch of my plan
1 is forest 2 is ice/snow 3 is beach 4 is ocean 5 is sky Edited by AlexAlexAlexAlexAlexAlex - 21 April 2015 at 8:37pm |

v3
Ignore the boundary on the outer green circle, it's not finished yet, as is the shadow on the top. Also, there is no water yet, but there is an improved reflection. Added trees, added a beach, neither of these outlines are final. v3 with shadow
*UPDATE* Switching to the palette challenge: more time, new kind of challenge for me. I also have little time, calc ap coming up and that means dump truck sized loads of hw. Edited by AlexAlexAlexAlexAlexAlex - 24 April 2015 at 8:05pm |
