I recently stumbled upon aseprite when looking for a pixel art program with onion-skinning for animation. This one stuck out as one of the best for me!
Its interface, in my opinion is a lot more appealing than graphicsgale and has a lot of useful pixel art tools such as onion-skinning, easy to use layer and frame management, a fairly good rotate tool, pixel perfect pencil option, easy palette management and even pre loaded with many used palettes like dawnbringer and commodore64. Probably the best $10 I've spent in awhile and I'd highly recommend it to someone who is looking for a good software so I'd thought I'd share it with yall aspiring artists who are looking for a program thats great for them! |

Yes, Aseprite doesn't get much frequent publicity, but it includes a very large number of features - and still has active development.
PixelJoint member IlKke actually contributed the icons, mouse cursors, etc. |
