Inspired by AshCrimson's thread i'm going to post some characters that i'm doing at the moment. It is just for practice, and maybe if i update the thread regularly i get more feedback.
This is what i have right now:
I want to change the colors a bit. |

Not bad!
With simple characters in this size, there are a thousand different ways and styles to do them. What do you wish to achieve with these characters? Examples of things to focus on could be: Displaying great detail with few pixels Character design through poses & clothes Few colors but many great uses etc etc etc. Of course, some of it is going to appear in any style you choose, but for a series to be coherent it might be practical to focus on one. If you don't know what to pick, try and find a series of (tiny pixel) characters which you like and look closely at what they have in common! |

I didn't think it that way but now it bothers me. I want to achieve something like these (which i think share the same size):
For me it is a practice, maybe i want to draw several clothes. |

The first 2 examples you show use subpixelling which may be overwhelming for you still. That 1st one by Bitslap is one of my fave subpixelling examples for its size in the entire PJ gallery.
The 3rd example is maybe better for you, for now. This type shifts pixels to imply extended movement and is far easier and less frustrating as you master the basics. |

That's very interesting, i didn't notice the pixel shifting until you pointed it out. Also i read it somewhere. I don't think i'm going to animate this, but maybe in the future i change my mind.
And more stuff added: ![]()

I think yellow light on 2nd character is way too bright. 3rd character's head is improved and the new one looks better. keep pixeling!
