So... Since I will have little time to work on pixel art the next days, my plans to do do something more complex were frustrated. Thus, I thought of making little rpg-like, simplistic sprites(Google ULTIMA IV for Master System).
Those sprites will certainly look better if zoomed in. In this case, is it acceptable to do it normal-sized, zoom in 200x, print screen and submit the result or it is totally against the rules? I know I can draw them as if they were alreasy "zoomed in" but it would take me way longer. ![]() thanks. |

Prezoomed pixel is cool when its a design choice or there is a valid reason as you have.
Zooming in taking a screen is not good technique!!! Scale up and 'save as' Prezoomed must be in pixel ratio so its better to think in resolution instead of %. For example if you want twice as big and you pixel is 72dpi then scale up to 144dpi instead of 200%. Most do not like them because PJers like to view 1X and them zoom in to inspect and study which is why we ask all not to prezoom. I find a little explanation in the description on pre zoomed pixels to be helpful for others. Pre zoomed when its too much 4X + even when its a design choice is subject to being sent back. Its all about keeping the piece in pixelart-ish ...??? |
