Is it ok if we already designed a OC and just use it for the challenge or does everything have to be from scratch?

From scratch.
Edit: It can be a design that you're conceived before this week, but all the pixel art must be done this week. |

If even the character has to be designed from scratch and we can't use one of our existing OCs, shouldn't the challenge directions say "Create a new original character and design a sprite of them, then create [...]"?
Or did you misunderstand Lytschi's question? I think they're asking whether we can use an OC we already have, not whether we can use a sprite we've already made. |

Looks cool, whats the character? These kind of flat/static poses are great for working out the costume design, but I would now start to experiment with different poses to give your character some life. Take a look at Guilty Gear sprites, each one has a pose that really adds to the personality of the character.
Also, I would suggest getting away from the directly-above (think UFO tractor beam) lighting, for your new pose. And at this size (especially since you aren't outlining) I would say scratch the dithered background, or at the least drop the background saturation really low to allow your character to pop out more. |

Alright, before I make more I'd like to get some critique, the one on left is base.

Wow, a big improvement! Make sure to be cautious of your color count, and remember, transparency is a color.
I think you could reuse some of your colors more, for the orange guy, you might think of using the same shadow color for the body and the tunic, for the blue, the same shadow color for the tunic and boots? I think this kind of thing could pull your sprite together more (and save you some colors). If you haven't already, I would suggest taking a close look at the way details, shading and contrast are handled in the SNES Castlevania IV and Dracula X games, seems to be along the line of what you are doing. (Particularly take notice to the few super bright highlight pixels in IV, those can really make your sprite POP!) |

Thanks! I'll try to be more careful with the colors. Maybe tweak the saturation a bit

A lot of improvement , might want to take another look at the left arm, careful with banding and fat pixels.

You can change your image mode to indexed, and select how many colors you want. When you hit ok if there were more colors than the limit you've selected some colors will change in to similar colors already in the image

In addition to what Calaerdir said, you could also get a link to your image (by uploading it to imgur.com or another image host) before inserting it into the PJ Image Specs tool.

Hello! Can I ask?
It says "Design a sprite.. then create at least two alternate.." so does it mean that there should be 1 original char and 2+ of recolors? So it's at least 3 sprites on the final image, right? I am confused a bit >.< |

Thanks! Just after posting it here I saw some things to correct…
About yours, I like it. You've come a long way since the first one you posted here. I'm far from being an expert, but I think I prefer the colors from the previous one. There seems to be more contrast and detail on the clothes. The new arm shadow looks much better than the old one though. :) |
