So I am fairly new to the community and I started a profile not long a go (somewhere around a month ago I believe). My question is when I submit pixel artwork how long does it take to get an approval for it to get posted. The only reason I ask is that I submitted a pixel art picture and its been a while now and its still pending approval. I am new to pixel art and am trying to hone my skills. I was looking for critique and advice as to what will make my style of artwork more pleasing and appealing to the eyes of the viewer but I can not recieve any of these when my art work can not be viewed as it is still pending approval. Please some one help me out.

The piece you posted i pre-zoomed to x2 except for the background which isn't. Use of mixed resolutions like this is generally not well recieved. When you produce low-res content, it is better to include many small sprites in one file before posting because:
  1. Inherently more interesting since there is more to look at
  2. You won't swamp the queue / front page

You also have contrast issues wth some of your shades. You have 2 near identical shades of blue, black, grey, and skin tone colors, none of which really help you piece stand out.

The lenght of time it takes for pieces to be approved depends largely on the overall quality of the piece and public queue scoring. It is up to us mods approve or deny pieces entry to the gallery.

If you are looking for critique / advice, these forums are the best place to post. This will allow you to obtain helpful feedback before posting pieces to your gallery in their 'final' iteration.

Hope this helps!

PJ is a bit short on mods currently so submissions are taking longer than usual, and they usually take a few days.

In addition, your submission appears to mix different zoom levels (some of your "pixels" are twice the size of the others), so you might be getting some "no" votes on the public queue, which means mods will let it sit in the queue longer before they make a decision, to see if the public reaches a consensus.

Thank you for the speedy response. I am completely new at pixel art and want to get better. So this was helpful. I have no idea of what I am doing. I program small games on Game Maker Studio Pro and really never dove into the art side of it all so I am trying and really am eager to learn.
