Is #75 currently taken? Thinking of doing some steampunk pirates in one of those small wooden makeshift flying machines. If not, I'll take #32 and finish off the shrub with some internet pirates with black beanies on and wires sprawling everywhere peering out the vegetation.

Silly me did #82 instead of #75, hope no one's claimed it. Anyway, this tile is finished:

82 is free. What is this btw? The "plank" doesn't look isometric, if it's a plank.

It's a flying machine, a rickety wooden helicopter with a cannon. How would I make the plank iso? It's my first time every properly doing this style

@Howl
Isometric view is based off of a 30/60/90 triangle to show the front, side, and top of an object, and pixel art uses use 2:1 lines(2 over, 1 up/down) as the base of this(technically, a 22.5 degree line, but it looks good). However your chopper blade is based on a 45 degree line, and isn't in the same perspective as the rest of the collab. I'd highly recommend googling "isometric pixel art tutorial" for further info, as i tend to ramble.

Aside from that, it looks like a stationary plank instead of a spinning blade. You could remedy this with some motion lines or motion blur to give the illusion of movement.

Corrected chopper blade outline + examples of correct and incorrect iso lines.

True isometric perspective.

Thanks for that! Wonderful explanation, I'll fix it promptly <:~)

Also, I'm totally against stealing others work (and love calling people out on it). It's a collaborative project and I was copying the explosion as I assumed I could use it to make everything look more unified within the piece, but I see where you're coming from and will make my own (also just read the rules).

Curious explained the iso part quite well.
About the explosion; I know you're new, so no harm done.
It's totally ok to be "inspired" by others especially in collabs, but yes, we have to use our own pixels, that is the rule of every art in pixeljoint (including collabs, weekly challenges, gallery submissions etc.) :)

:) No harm, no foul. Keep at the art though, it's coming along nicely.

@Gecimen
Thank you again! I hope I can continue improving. Still trying to think which tile I want next...

@Irena
Nice WIP. Just curious how everyone forgot Hook to this point lol.

@CuriousBeefJerky: In isometric pixel art, circles parallel to the ground are ellipses that are half as tall as they are wide, so you may want to adjust the top and bottom of the helicopter's body, as well.

@Eishiya
Ah.. I didn't notice that part :P
You're right though. Iso circles and (especially)curves still give me problems, so I believe I overlook them.

Can't really think of much to do tile wise, but I was inspired to fill some space and shoot a monkey out of a cannon.

Does this read as a flying monkey with daggers? If not, anyone have any tips on revising it?
Also: naked monkey, monkey w/ shirt, or monkey w/ shirt+hat?
Or naked monkey w/ hat maybe?

Still needs work, but I believe it's a bit more readable now.

@Curious; Thanks man! About your tile, you can try to lighten the monkey face a little and to stretch out his tail.

@darchangel; nice pile of loot. It turned out pretty well.

@darchangel: #6 is yours. Also, do not worry about matching your edge with #7, I will adjust my tile to yours acordingly (bring the water higher, etc).

It's been pretty quiet here for the last few days. Here's my WIP for #3. I'm not so sure about the concept though... Actually, the color palette pushed me in that direction.

The forum email notification is broken, hence the quiteness.
Is this giant girl some reference or ?

Yes, that's goddess Eris from "Sinbad". She can be enormous and normal size. She is a goddess... But if it looks too strange to you, I'll think something else.
EDIT: I'll probably do something else.

Thanks Reo.

Good looking tile already, Irena.

We're coming up to the busy season for me at work so I might be a little slow on mine but here is a quick WIP of what I have in mind.

@Irena; for me, if it’s a reference it’s ok. like i always say, if it’s a random giant thing (as i said few times previously), it’s just breaking the scale. Anyways your woman is indeed a reference so it’s ok by me.

@darchangel; pyrometal said he will raise his sea level as needed.

Well, tile #3 is done. All in all I'm not very happy with the final result but I've left without some more interesting ideas and no time to work on something else. Maybe in the future I'll redraw it... (if I find time and perhaps some more adequate theme).
