Pixel Joint Forum: Art from Pixel Joint members used in Sandbox app

   Hi everyone,

I just came across that app called Sandbox which is available on iOS and Android and is really popular at the moment (1 to 5 millions downloads on Android alone):

Some content is free but for to get access to everything you have to pay a monthly subscription. 

The app is using some assets that have been made by members of Pixel Joint. Have they been properly licensed? I thought I would post here just in case... 

I didn't check everything but I've found work from Jalonso and Carnivac:

	Thats so sad :(. Just from the screenshots I also recognize the elf by Sedgemonkey and the donation bag, one of the PJ awards. I'll try to message the app creators, but I'm afraid I can't do much more.. Would you mind to send a message to Carnivac? Jalonso is unreachable at the moment...

	The creator is very willing to remove the icons, I'll just have to go and find them all. Help is welcome, screenshots will do.

	That's great to hear! Thanks for getting in touch with the author, Hapiel. A lot of the designs in the app looks familiar, but I'm not able to connect them to a particular artist.

	Maybe I'm being cynical, but it sounds like they're trying to get out of doing the work by putting it on Hapiel. Shouldn't the creator be the one to look at all the icons and make sure they have the licenses? They're making the assumption that the majority of the art is free to use, when the opposite is true. It's on them to secure permission for the artwork they use, it should NOT be on the artists to stop them from breaking the law.

	Of course, it is bad, unethical, whatever, but if this is the deal I'm happy to take that deal. I don't know any way to force anyone to treat us more fairly any way...

	Maybe if a bunch of the artists involved all send them C&Ds at the same time, it'll scare them a bit? There are more of us than there are of them, and we shouldn't be playing by their unfair terms. I realize that's big talk for someone who's probably not involved and who can't even help find stolen art ):

	I've emailed the list, I hope it makes a difference. @snv Independent of whether it is true or not, negative generalizations rarely help solve issues, and still wrong members of the group who do not fit that stereotype.
